In 2001 our CD Washington Post, Saturday, July 27, 2002 You have not heard everything music has to offer until you have heard
a condensed version of Rimsky-Korsakov's "Scheherazade" arranged for electric
violin, double bass, guitar and accordion. That was one of the short,
colorful items offered by a quartet called Gypsy Strings Thursday evening
at Strathmore Hall. It was done quite well, but the wonder was to see
it done at all. -- Joseph McLellan -Washington Post-Senior Music Critic
"The interplay between musicians is impressive." "The reviews are in! The Gypsy Strings received four
stars for their performance." "The Gypsy Strings performance was wonderful! As the
coordinator of our cultural program, I was overwhelmed with positive feedback." "The Gypsy Strings would easily fit in a five star
hotel or in a Russian restaurant in the heart of New York or even Paris."
"The Washington D.C. group Gypsy Strings plays the
best world music, from Peruvian waltzes to French musettes, from Astor
Piazzolla to Rossini." "Your CD is very good!!! The Gypsy Strings are not
only very good in the music but the web site is great too." "I'm at your web site, just after hearing the sound
files several times each. I enjoyed them very much, especially Libertango.
The musicianship and orchestration in each of them is very impressive." "I enjoyed your program immensely and I am looking
forward to having the Gypsy Strings entertain at our holiday party again.
Your repertoire of ethnic and classical favorites is perfect." |
